General Admin

Are you open during the Coronavirus crisis?

Yes… We are open and able to assist adult cancer patients throughout Central New York! We are currently working remotely from our homes and doing our best to meet the needs of the remarkable cancer patients we serve. So, if you’ve got a question, have a need, or want to help? Please do connect with us: That’s precisely what we’re here for even in these extraordinary times.

Where do I mail applications for your programs, donations, correspondence, etc.

Please mail all applications, donations, other correspondence to:

CancerConnects Inc.
P.O. Box 2010
East Syracuse, NY 13057

Patient Financial Assistance Program

I’m already a participating patient in one of your Financial Assistance programs. Where do I send bills for payment?

Please mail all applications, donations, other correspondence to:

CancerConnects Inc.
P.O. Box 2010
East Syracuse, NY 13057

NOTE: Sorry, but we cannot accept email/photo attachments of bills for payment from patients receiving financial assistance. Please supply the actual bill or a legible photocopy.

I’m out of work (or another member of household is out of work) because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Can CancerConnects help me with my living expenses while I’m in cancer treatment?

Possibly, however eligibility for our Patient Financial Assistance programs is based on household income, and on a case-by-case basis. Please contact our office if you have had or will have a significant decrease in your household income due to the COVID-19 pandemic and are currently an adult cancer patient in ACTIVE treatment. We’ll review your submittal and let you know if we can help.

I’m filling out an application for one of your Patient Financial Assistance programs; it asks for proof of income, but I haven’t filed my 2019 income taxes yet and now can’t meet with an accountant because of the COVID-19 pandemic… What should I do?

Please complete the application and note that you can’t complete your income tax filing due to social distancing. Please submit it with a copy of any W2s, 1099s, Social Security statements, pension statements, and any other documents that substantiate your 2019 income for ALL members of your household.

Complementary Therapy Program

Is your free Complementary Therapy voucher program open during the COVID-19 pandemic?

For the safety of our wonderful Complementary Therapy providers and the awesome cancer patients we serve, our traditional Complementary Therapy (CT) program is “on hold” for now and we hope to re-open this signature program as soon as it is safe to do so, per guidance from the NYS Department of Health.

However, we are proud to provide three, new & free virtual Complementary Therapy offerings during this vital time of social distancing for safety & wellness: (1) Qigong; (2) Therapeutic Meditation & Relaxation; (3) Guided Meditation. Each will be presented via Zoom or over the phone by one of our amazing Complementary Therapy Providers. Please contact our office via phone (315-634-5004) or email us at: specialistcancerconnects@gmail.com for more information.

What will happen to vouchers I was awarded, haven’t used, and may expire before the Complementary Therapy program resumes?

We are extending the expiration date of all free Complementary Therapy program vouchers by four (4) months from the date noted on your voucher(s).

Other Connections & Needs

The friend or family member who was driving me to my medical appointments can no longer do so because of COVID-19. How can I get rides to treatment?

Please contact our office as soon as possible so we can determine if you eligible for transportation assistance -- and how we can best provide you with safe transport (or gas gift cards) to ensure you continue your vital cancer treatment and medical appointments.

My cancer patient or caregivers support group has been canceled. Is there other online or phone support available?

YES! Our Volunteer Mentor program can provide you with a trained and compassionate person to talk to via phone or email/online. Also, if you’re just feeling isolated because of the COVID-19 pandemic, cancer treatment, or while caring for a cancer patient -- we can match you with a helpful member of our new “Volunteer Mentor Auxiliary Team” who can check in with you a couple of times each week via phone or email.
